Carrie Nicol

Born and raised on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Carrie is a founding director of Karim + Nicol Lawyers. Carrie has worked exclusively in the Criminal Law as a defence solicitor since her admission.

Following the completion of her law degree at the University of NSW, Carrie has worked in the Local, Children’s, District and Supreme Courts of NSW. She is recognised as a highly effective and determined advocate, appearing in numerous sentences, bail applications and defended hearings. She returned to UNSW as a sessional lecturer in Criminal Law in 2015, where she continues to lecture.

Carrie’s experience and knowledge of the Criminal Law ensures that she can quickly identify the legal issues relevant to your case. Recognising that matters often require particular expertise, but also need the highest levels of communication and empathy; Carrie regularly utilises her established network of colleagues and barristers to provide you with the best representation.

Carrie’s experience has earned the reputation amongst practitioners and court staff as an effective, committed and compassionate advocate. Her ability was recognised by her colleagues in 2020 and 2021, when she was listed as one of the state’s most recommended criminal defence lawyers. Carrie is on all Legal Aid NSW criminal law panels.
